Church at Rameshwaram...

proposed church for Roy Builders...

Church at Muthupettai

as designed...

as built...

a century old church at the fishing village of Muthupettai (en route to Rameshwaram) was demolished and this new church was designed. Roy builders did an appreciable job in a remote village with constraints of skilled labour and limited budget.

Church at Pulikanmoi

photographed when nearing final construction stage...

as conceived...

This church was built at the remote village of Pulikanmoi near kalayarkoil (sivagangai dist.) The building evoked mixed response. Some said its great...Some commented that it was too modern in concept for a rural church..Some said it is copied from a foreign church...some said it didn't look like church at all with the traditional steeple missing...! The final finished building didn't match exactly with my expectations but then again it was a challenging work for Roy builders in a remote area with limited funds.

Church at Michaelpattinam

a century old church was demolished and a new church was built keeping in mind the architectural character of the old one. This project came at a time when I was experimenting with 'de-con' architecture else where and even though simple, it was a mental challenge to do something traditional.

Church at Seekoorani

This church was originally designed for Roy builders at Seekoorani village in Sivagangai dist. But it couldnt be built as the client could'nt come to an understanding with the contractor. Recently, I heard from the contractor that he had used this design for another church in the same district with some modifications.
